Acts of Vestry
July 2004
Highlights of the July 2004 Vestry meeting included the following:
-
Approval of a plan developed by the Finance Committee to pull funds from a variety of programs in order to provide $5,000 for construction of a
classroom for the Catechesis program. In addition, the Vestry agreed in principle to provide an additional $3,000 for creation of a second
classroom, with the Finance Committee to identify the budget changes needed to make the funding proposal possible.
-
Adoption of a proposal by Junior Warden Jack Burton to spend $40,000 from the Building Replacement Reserve for projects, including work on the
Baxter House basement and repointing of the brickwork in Baxter House.
-
A report by Canvass co-director Michael Knipe explaining the strategy for the campaign for next year. The campaign itself would be similar to
last year’s effort, with members being given the choice either to make a pledge or ask for a meeting with a canvasser.
-
Paul Abernathy reported on a three month project involving handling of visitor’s cards. Visitors will be encouraged to drop the cards in the
donation plate as well as to give them to the Vestry greeter.
